BuildLabs jointly announced on April 19, 2024 with the Nash County Economic Development that our construction tech firm is planning to break ground in Nash County, North Carolina.
This is exciting news not just for our small team based in Long Island, NY–but for the greater Nash County area as well. Local officials and press recognized that this spells opportunity for the region.
As our founder Punit Chugh told The Rocky Mount Telegram:
“…The company was attracted to ‘the abundance of a quality workforce in the Research Triangle area” that dovetails with the high-tech precision he said the company applies to its design and construction. “The workforce was critically a big driver” in the decision, he said, adding that the state of North Carolina is “showing high growth in terms of workforce and homes being built right now, so that provides a synergy that is advantageous to us.’”
Even the mayor of Nashville, NC weighed in on the announcement:
“It is very exciting that BuildLabs has chosen to locate their first U.S. manufacturing facility in Nashville. BuildLabs’ decision to select Nashville for their future home is a testament to our community’s ideal location, qualified workforce and friendly quality of life.”
BuildLabs plans to build a 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and customer-experience center that will employ 24 people in its initial development phase, and possibly hundreds over the next five to 10 years.
Headquartered in Bridgehampton, NY, the company owes its transparent and timely building services to its unique Hybrid Off-Site and On-Site building processes. It relies on precision engineering from its facility in Germany, which manufactures much of the materials and elements with unprecedented accuracy. When the foundations reach the job-site, the assembly is completed seamlessly and swiftly.
The new North Carolina facility is an opportunity to bring this innovation to US grounds, allowing BuildLabs to scale its sustainable and transparent building processes in real estate markets beyond the Hamptons.
The articles report that building will likely equate to a $115 million investment, and is expected to commence later this year. If all goes as planned, the BuildLabs hub should be completed by mid-2025.
